Plan review
A plan review is a organized look at the retirement plan you already sponsor, ending in a plain-language list of observations and questions to take to your providers.

What a review typically covers
Plan document and amendments, the investment menu and any default option, eligibility and enrollment rules, employer contributions, participation patterns, and who performs which administrative tasks.
The goal is a shared picture of how the plan works today, written down in one place, rather than a verdict.
What you bring
Recent fee disclosures, the investment lineup, the plan document summary and any service agreements. If you are not sure where these live, finding them is part of the first conversation.
What you receive
A written summary of what was reviewed, what stood out, and open questions. Findings are educational observations for the plan sponsor to consider with its own advisers and counsel.
Questions worth asking
- 01When was the plan last reviewed, and is that recorded anywhere?
- 02Does the investment menu still fit the people using it?
- 03Who is responsible for each plan task today?
- 04Are service agreements and fee disclosures current and in one place?
Limits and risks
A review does not guarantee lower costs, better plan results or regulatory compliance, and does not replace advice from your attorney, recordkeeper or third-party administrator.
