Working With Tim
Is the annuity review really free?
Yes — completely. There's no cost and no obligation. Tim's goal is to help you understand what you already own. If your annuity is serving you well, he'll tell you so and you'll walk away with peace of mind.
Will you pressure me to switch or buy something?
No. Tim's approach is built on honest, no-pressure guidance. Sometimes the best advice is to leave your policy exactly as it is — and if that's the case, he'll say so. Any decision is always entirely yours.
Is Tim a fiduciary?
Yes. Tim owns PGW Financial LLC, a registered investment adviser, and acts as a fiduciary when providing investment advice. Separately, he is a licensed independent insurance agent — when he recommends or places an annuity, he acts in that insurance capacity and may receive a commission from the insurance company. He is always clear about which role applies to your situation.
Are you tied to one insurance company?
No. Tim is an independent insurance professional who works with more than 30 insurance carriers. That means he can compare options across the market and recommend what genuinely fits your situation, rather than what any single company needs to sell.
Do I have to come into an office?
Not at all. Many clients prefer to talk by phone, and Tim is happy to do your review that way. If you'd rather meet in person somewhere in the Tampa Bay area, that can be arranged too — whatever is most comfortable for you.
Annuities & Existing Policies
What if my original broker or agent is gone?
That's one of the most common reasons people call. If the person who sold you your annuity has retired, moved, or become unreachable, Tim can review your existing policy and serve as your point of contact going forward — even if he didn't originally sell it to you.
I inherited an annuity. Can you help me understand it?
Absolutely. Inherited annuities come with specific IRS rules around distributions, taxes, and deadlines that can be confusing and costly if missed. Tim will walk you through exactly what you have and what your options are before any important deadline passes.
Are annuities guaranteed and FDIC insured?
Annuities are not bank deposits and are not FDIC insured. Fixed and fixed-indexed annuities guarantee principal and a minimum interest rate subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Guarantees are not backed by the federal government.
What's the difference between a fixed and a fixed-indexed annuity?
A fixed annuity credits interest at rates specified by the contract. A fixed-indexed annuity may link interest crediting to an index, subject to floors, caps or participation rates; it is not a direct investment in the index. Charges and withdrawals can reduce contract value, and guarantees depend on the issuing insurer’s claims-paying ability. Tim will explain the trade-offs in plain English.
Retirement Income Planning
What is a Retirement Income Review?
It's a no-cost, no-obligation conversation where Tim maps your savings, Social Security, and any existing annuities against the income you'll actually need — so you can see gaps, risks, and options clearly. Most reviews take about 30–45 minutes.
I'm worried about running out of money. Can a review help?
Yes. Understanding how long your savings can realistically last is one of the core purposes of a review. Tim will help you see your full income picture and, where it fits, explain strategies designed to provide lifetime income under contract terms.
Should I be concerned about market volatility near retirement?
Many retirees are. A large loss early in retirement can have an outsized impact on how long your savings last — sometimes called sequence-of-returns risk. A review looks at how exposed your income plan is and what options exist to help protect principal.
Getting Started
How do I schedule a review?
You can request a review online or call Tim directly at (727) 692-5866. He'll confirm a time that works for you — by phone, video, or in person in Tampa Bay.
What should I have ready?
Nothing formal is required. If you have recent statements for your savings, IRA, 401(k), or any existing annuities handy, they help — but they're optional. Mostly, just bring your questions.
What areas does Tim serve?
Tim is based in Tampa Bay and serves Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough counties, including communities like St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa, Brandon, Wesley Chapel, and New Port Richey.

Annuities are insurance contracts. Guarantees, including guaranteed lifetime income benefits where available, are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Product features, fees, withdrawal restrictions, and surrender charges vary by contract.
